On 17th March we had the pleasure of hosting the book launch for ‘The Vacant Space – The Journal of an Ageing Feminist’ by Mel Read MEP. The event was a huge success, and feedback on the book has been glowing.
All proceeds are being donated to Women’s Aid Leicestershire Ltd. These funds go a long way to ensuring we can run our refuges successfully.
You may still purchase a copy of the book for £12 (inc. P&P) by visiting the Shop section of the website.
…
Do slugs have rights?
Are arguments about toilet rolls grounds for divorce?
How do you decorate a bust of Lenin in time for Christmas?
Address these and many more other questions in The Vacant Space, the author roams at will through a series of memories, thoughts, and experiences, which have all brought joy, delight, disgust, or contempt, but always fascination to an ageing feminist.
The Vacant Space isn’t a diary and it’s certainly not a guide to living. Rather it is a celebration of finding something remarkable in each new day.
