Refuge can be an unsettling time for children. Our Children, Young People’s and Family Refuge Practitioner is based within refuge to support the children throughout their stay.
The Practitioner is there to ensure the children and young people are being supported whilst their Mum meets with the Refuge Practitioner. Alongside this, the Children, Young People’s and Family Practitioner facilitates a range of activities throughout the week to encourage creativity and development. These activities range from baby sensory classes, arts and crafts, homework club and sessions that teach useful skills for the older children. These can all support with socialising and expressing their emotions during their stay at refuge.
