Martin Pennington from Great Glen completed the Leicester Marathon on Sunday 14 October. The marathon started at 8:45 at Victoria Park and went up to Thrussington and back round to Victoria Park. Martin managed to complete the full 26.2 miles despite the incessant, pouring rain. Martin’s JustGiving page has raised £500 over his initial target of £1,000.
Martin was greeted at the finish line by the Chief Executive of Women’s Aid Leicestershire Ltd and some co-workers. It is a great achievement for Martin and the fund raising has been a big success. Women’s Aid Leicestershire Ltd would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Martin and thank him for his support.
Although, cold, wet and exhausted, Martin still took the time to pose with his medal and talk to us about his run and how pleased he was to be able to raise funds for the women affected by domestic violence.
