Being a volunteer is hugely rewarding.
We offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities that provide a rewarding and satisfying experience. We provide a full induction and training to prepare you for the role, so you’ll be fully equipped and supported to make a positive difference to those who have experienced domestic abuse.
Roles Available to Volunteers
Refuge Project Volunteer (weekdays and weekend)
To offer advice & information, taking phone calls and dealing with messages
Taking referrals & completing risk assessments
Coordinating & delivering activities and events in the refuge, including our refuge gardening club
Completing safe and well calls to clients
Groups Volunteer
Supporting our group facilitator, to deliver our Empowerment Programme
Donations Volunteer
Collecting and distributing vital donations directly to refuge
Planning donations for celebrations and events
Events Volunteer
Attending events and fundraisers, raising the profile of WALL
Volunteer Mentor
Supporting our team of volunteers
Providing a befriending service within our move on refuge accommodation service
